The person behind the practice
Tabari Diriki founded Reed & Pigment as a home for stories with roots and reach. An African diasporic writer, he moves between editorial work, brand narratives, fiction, and nonfiction. His eye is drawn to the person behind the polished surface, the history inside the present moment, and the detail that refuses to be forgotten.
Reed & Pigment is the name on the door. Tabari is the writer who opens it, asks another question, and stays with the story until it finds its shape.
Why Reed & Pigment?
Reed pens and natural pigments once carried words across distance and time. The tools were simple; what people made with them was not. They recorded lives, beliefs, arguments, and visions that outlasted the hands that wrote them.
Our tools now glow and scroll. The impulse endures. Reed & Pigment honors that long human tradition while writing for the world we are making: attentive to culture, alert to change, and unwilling to let a living story become a flat line of copy.
